What is a cover block?
A cover block is a small block made of concrete. You put it under and beside the steel bars before you pour concrete. It is also called a concrete spacer.
The block holds the steel up. So there is a gap between the steel and the outside of the concrete. This gap is called cover.
Why use concrete cover blocks?
- Stops rust. The concrete cover keeps water and air away from the steel.
- Right gap every time. Each block has a fixed size, so the cover is the same everywhere.
- Made of concrete. It becomes part of the slab after you pour.
- Better than stones or broken bricks. They do not give an exact gap, and they can leave weak spots.
Our cover block types
Round cover blocks with binding wire. We make them in 15 mm, 20 mm, 25 mm, 30 mm, 40 mm and 50 mm. The wire lets you tie the block to the steel bar, so it does not move when you pour concrete.

4-way cover block. One block, four sizes. Each side gives a different cover: 20 mm for slabs, 25 mm for beams, 40 mm for columns and 50 mm for footings. Just turn the block to the side you need.
